Mayor Spinello Announces Available Funds for Residential Rehab Program

Income Eligible Seniors and Disabled Persons Asked to Apply For Home Improvement Needs

Glen Cove, NY, October 21, 2015… Glen Cove Community Development Agency (CDA) Chairman, Mayor Reggie Spinello, announced today that additional funds for the Residential Rehabilitation Program are now available for eligible Glen Cove residents. Income eligible seniors ages 60+ and handicapped persons are encouraged to apply for the program which provides funding for home repairs including energy conservation, code violation remediation, and handicap accommodation installations.

“Since the reinstatement of this program in 2014, the CDA has been able to fund three home repair projects for Glen Cove seniors which included roof repairs, boiler installation, siding repair, window replacement, door hanging, and a hot water heater installation,” said Mayor Spinello. “For Glen Cove seniors and disabled individuals, funding from this program can make a substantial improvement to the quality of their home life.” Applicants must have owned and lived in their current home for more than one year, meet income guidelines, and be up-to-date in the payment of their school and property taxes.

A pre-screening application is available in English and Spanish on the agency’s website – www.glencovecda.org – click on the Programs tab, and then click on Residential Rehab Application. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis, and funding is limited.
